THE STACHE BELONGS TO…
By Rock Mayock 5:30 p.m. | To actor, author, director and screenwriter Jerome Silberman, aka Gene Wilder. Although he was successful in his own right, Wilder enjoyed the bulk of his success when paired with director, writer and producer Mel Brooks. Brooks and Wilder complimented one another like peanut butter and jelly or strippers and fruity smelling Victoria’s Secret body lotions.
Wilder has starred in FOOTBALLPHDS’ favorites such as Blazing Saddles, Stir Crazy, Hear No Evil, See No Evil and of course Young Frankenstein. In Young Frankenstein, Wilder portrays a distant relative of Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The wackiness ensues when Wilder follows in his family’s footsteps and raises Frankenstein’s Monster. The ensemble cast also stars Teri Garr, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Madeline Kahn, and Gene Hackman. The movie also ranks #13 on the American Film Institute’s list of 100 Funniest American Movies.
Of course Paulie Walnuts has once again successfully named the stache. His reward this week, aside from the honor on retaining his Name the… Crown, is this wonderful clip of Gene Wilder and Teri Garr at their finest. Great job and “WHAT KNOCKERS!”
