By Brittany Lauren, FOOTBALLPHDS’ personal trainer, photo by Edwin “EJ” Jiminez, 10:00 a.m. | The PhDs have been complaining to me about the extra weight they’re putting on because “football season is casual dining season.” I told them to stop eating crap and to start eating more lean animal protein and fresh veggies but they don’t want to hear it. To help my boys lose their beer bellies and put on more muscle mass I found another killer WOD from the super sexy Chris Spealler.
You’re going to need three weight stations for this WOD. You’ll need a set up for deadlifts, a set up for bench press and a set up for squat cleans. The WOD’s name is Linda and she’s a toughie.
Deadlift 1.5 x body weight
Bench press body weight
Clean .75 x body weight
The key to finishing this WOD is to make sure you’re deliberate with your reps. Pace yourself and make sure every rep for every set matters. It took Rock Mayock 38 minutes to finish this WOD but he finished.
Make sure you do your stretching before and after the WOD to help prevent injuries and soreness. Remember drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. I recommend coconut water because it’s loaded with potassium and it doesn’t have all of the artificial flavors and sugar of Gatorade. Also remember to write down your results.
