PROOF THAT PEYTON MANNING HAS RECEOVERED FROM NECK SURGERY
By Rock Mayock 10:00 a.m. | After 19 months away from the gridiron due to what could have been career ending neck surgery, 4 time MVP quarterback Peyton Manning appears to be back. Is he back because he can still throw a back shoulder fade or timing route? Of course not. Peyton is back because he is doing what Peyton does best, he’s shilling out endorsements to whoever will stroke him a check.
If you remember pre-surgery Peyton had a list of endorsement clients that would make Heidi Fleiss envious. In 2010 Gatorade, Mastercard, Oreo, Reebox and Sony all lined up to throw $15,000,000 USD in endorsement money to the very affable and marketable Mr. Manning. Now that Peyton is back in the NFL slinging the football around, albeit with quite a bit less velocity, the endorsements have been unleashed a la the Kraken from Clash of the Titans (the kick ass 1981 Harry Hamlin Clash of the Titans, not the piece of crap 2010 Sam Worthington Clash of the Titans).
This year Peyton is on pace to pull in between $10,000,000-$13,000,000 in endorsement money due to his deals with DirecTV, Gatorade, Papa Johns, Reebox, Sony and Wheaties. The most recent addition to Peyton’s endorsement portfolio is Buick. Whether or not Peyton can move the sales needle for the struggling “luxury” arm of the GM line up remains to be seen. However what can be seen is the natural charisma that makes Peyton so damn likeable. Check him out in the new Buick Verano commercial.
