BREAKING NEWS: JORDAN PALMER SIGNS WITH JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

JORDAN PALMER JAGUARSBy Jaboner Jackson 10:30 a.m. | Earlier this week, the Jacksonville Jaguars shored up their backup quarterback position by signing Jordan Palmer, the younger brother of Carson Palmer, to a contract. Affectionately known as “Little Heisman Palmer” around the FOOTBALLPHDS offices, the news of Jordan’s signing was admittedly inconsequential—he has thrown only 15 passes in his NFL career. Nonetheless, the kid from Orange County gets back in the professional game. Here are our predictions for Jordan’s 2012 NFL season with the Jaguars:

1. Jordan will look impressive in OTAs, either throwing the ball or cheering on the first team squad.

2. Jordan will continue to cement his life after football as a successful business person as clipboard holding will further develop his business handshake.

3. Jordan will be hard pressed to better his amazing 100% completion rate in 2010, during which time he completed an excellent 3-for-3 passes for the Cincinnati Bengals.

4. Jordan will look oddly like his older brother Carson at times, especially to those fans sitting in the upper bleachers.

And for those Jordan Palmer fans out there—we know there must be at least one—here is the redux of our Ode to Jordan Palmer from last year:

1. Jordan Palmer has played three seasons with the Bengals, during which time he has thrown a total of 15 passes.  In 2010, he went an amazing 3-for-3 for an impressive 100% completion rate.  Unfortunately, he also was sacked twice and only amassed 18 total yards of offense.  Jordan has exhibited remarkable poise when holding the clipboard on the sidelines during practices.

2. Prior to the Bengals, Palmer was on the practice squads for the Washington Redskins, at which time he took the attached photograph.

3. Jordan played his college football at UTEP, where he won the 2006 GMAC Bowl.  In his junior season, he amassed an impressive 3,503 yards.

If this Ode is not enough for all the Jordan Palmer fans out there (we know there must be at least one such fan), please feel free to read some of our archives regarding Jordan Palmer and his older, stud-lier brother, the incomparable Carson Palmer.

  1. It’s actually not a bad signing for the Jags. At least Palmer has some game experience and maybe can offer some veteran leadership to Gabbert. If Gabbert stinks it up like he did last season maybe Palmer sniffs the field like you sniff Carson’s jock strap.
