BREAKING NEWS: BEASTIE BOYS ADAM “MCA” YAUCH DEAD AT 47

By Rock Mayock 11:00 p.m. | The breaking news has been coming fast and furious this week and unfortunately none of it has been good. Today we lost a pioneer of the 80’s rap scene with the untimely passing of Beastie Boys co-founder Adam “MCA” Yauch, he was only 47.

In 2009 MCA was diagnosed with parotid gland (saliva gland) cancer. He battled the disease for nearly three years undergoing a combination of surgical, radiation and chemo therapy. Parotid cancer typically has a 50%-70% rate of survival 10 years after diagnosis however it is unknown what stage MCA’s cancer had metastasized to prior to his diagnosis. Regardless of the estimated survival rates we have lost a talented musician, director, social activist, and philanthropist. Instead of dwelling upon all of the things that could have been the FOOTBALLPHDS will pay homage with our favorite Beastie Boy tracks.
