My parents looked at the condos. Really nice, beatifully made, great amenities. But guess how much HOA on a 2 bedroom was? $2200 a month. My parents are almost retired and want to down size from the home we grew up in but they’re not the kind of rich where it makes sense to pay $2200 for HOA just by itself every month. At that, they’ll stay in Hancock Park and just deal with maintenance and upkeep on their home. The Ritz is made for jetsetters who sneeze at those kind of HOA fees.

that’s funny because most of the big money buyers at this point are aeg execs or friends of aeg…it was a grand endeavor but the timing was really bad and their pricing is still delusional.

The Ritz condos can’t be doing well. I was at a Kings game last week and most of the Ritz condos are dark, no one home. It’s possible there are some big money buyers who might own these condos and never stay there, but I doubt it. But you’re right….you can’t become rich by making bad investments.

as what I’ve been saying all along…the idiots that think Anschutz will put up any cash of significance or cover cost overruns is laughable…they guy makes his money off of other people’s money and taxpayer giveaways…there’s way too much risk in this project and with the ritz condos struggling I highly doubt he’s in a check writing mood.

most likely no…despite what the phd’s claim they will work out a stadium sharing deal with the 9ers if they can even get that one built…it’s already “financed” but the terms are risky to say the least.
