NEWS RE. OUR GOOD FRIEND T.I. – GRAND HUSTLE SHAKE UP?
By Doubletap Jenkins III 10pm| Now that I can take a break from wining and dining the list of people Jaboner needed me to pump info from, I finally got a chance to fly to Atlanta for the weekend to see some of my peoples in Falcon Country, including my friends at Grand Hustle. As we know, our good friend T.I., who we enjoy watching Falcons games with, is out of prison, and will be starring in a reality show for BET2, I mean VH1. What else is going on with our man T.I.P.?
For those that follow the hip-hop game, we know that Jason Geter has been the main guy over at T.I.'s label Grand Hustle (they broke a huge artist this past year with B.O.B.). Well it appears that Geter's days as CEO of Grand Hustle are nearing an end, as T.I. wants to make a shift in how his empire is run. G. Roberson, who heads the rap division of Atlantic Records and also has a management/production company whose clients include mas malo Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Drake, is rumored to take over Grand Hustle. Brian Sher, who manages T.I. for all things film and TV, is going to be expanding his role. He was the masterminded behind "T.I.'s Road To Redemption", "The Michael Vick Project", and this VH1 show (Sher also manages and runs all things for Kelsey Grammer), and is going to be working closely with G. Roberson in overseeing the growth of Grand Hustle.
Why does this matter to the PHDs? Because there are only two reasons why we like the extremely over-rated city of Atlanta. They are 1) the Atlanta Fish Market, and 2) watching Falcons games with T.I.P. The PHDs have already booked our flights to attend the September 18 Eagles-Falcons game. It's almost a certainty that Michael Vick and T.I. will be getting together to film an episode of the VH1 show and discuss how doing a reality show coming out of prison is great for the career. We will be at the restaurant, and may even be extras. All right Mr. Demille, we are ready for our close-ups!
(On a side note, T.I.P. told me earlier today that I should take Matt Ryan as my first QB in my fantasy draft --- so that's what I did. He better have a low standard deviation season for me...)
